Accounting and Finance
Accounting and Finance department, as an information system, covers the determination of financial information related to the business, bringing them together, examining and communicating them to the relevant people. It has become obligatory to educate students who receive education on accounting and finance department courses as people who contribute to the economic power of the country and produce solutions to the economic problems of the country in accordance with the conditions of the age. The aim of our department is to provide our students with the information they may need in their business regarding accounting and finance, taking into account the changing conditions. In this sense, while providing our students with basic courses such as Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Management and Financial Statement Analysis, the contents of which are created within the framework of current conditions; at the same time, scientific infrastructures are created by giving courses such as Investment Projects Analysis, International Finance, Entrepreneurship Finance and Financial Institutions, which are in the pool of elective courses.
Management and Organization
Organizations continue to become more varied, more dispersed and more complex. This situation necessitates to improve the understanding about the management of organizations. The research areas determined by UAK in October 2020 in the management and organization department, which includes disciplines such as organization, management, organizational theory, organizational behavior, human resources management, strategic management and entrepreneurship, are as follows: Maritime Management, Industrial Organization, Human Resources Management, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Governance, Organization and Group Communication, Organizational Behavior, Healthcare Management, Strategic Management, International Business, International Institutions, Psychology of Strategy Management, Ethics and Applied Ethics, Hospital Management, Sociology of Work and Organization, Quality Management, Organizational Economics, Organizational Theory, Organizational Culture, Health Management and Management Sociology.
Production Management
This is a prominent research area that deals with the design, planning and integrated monitoring of all systems involved in the product or service creation processes of an enterprise. It provides important managerial capabilities such as the selection of process strategies in line with business objectives, the development of proper capacity and integrated production plans. This discipline encompasses many important areas such as project management, forecasting, facility location and layout strategies, product and service quality, material and inventory management, technology management, supply chain management, enterprise resource planning and ergonomics, and involves mainly statistical and mathematical approaches handling both qualitative and quantitative criteria of the decision-makers.
Marketing
Marketing is a discipline that deals with the design and implementation of elements that create value for consumers. The research area of this discipline focuses on both businesses and consumers. In terms of businesses, many topics such as product, price, distribution and marketing communication, the relationship between marketing and other departments, marketing research and management of marketing information, competition and growth strategies are within the scope of marketing. On the consumer side, marketing is a multidisciplinary field of study that interacts with various fields such as psychology, sociology and neuroscience that can help the effort to understand the consumer, along with issues such as consumer behavior, decision-making processes, factors affecting these processes and different consumption approaches. Beyond that, topics such as marketing for non-profit organizations, sustainability, conscious consumption, green marketing and sharing economy are research areas where marketing techniques and approaches are examined.
Quantitative Methods
Quantitative Methods is a managerial discipline that deals with accurately determining and improving the objective performance levels of businesses. It primarily involves methods that help managers' decision-making processes. Mainly based on Statistics and Operations Research, the sciences that provide the data analysis of business processes and the development and solution of mathematical models for various business problems, the field includes the theoretical base and practical methods that enable to reach optimal or near-optimal managerial decisions, whether strategic or operational. Many research areas, from investment decision-making and multi-criteria optimization to quality control and management and decision support systems, meet under the umbrella of this discipline.
